Our principles around data and privacy
It is important to us that your privacy is respected and that this is a safe and affirming experience for you. As members of the rainbow community who also use drugs, participants experience multiple stigmatised layers of identity. As such, data privacy is crucial to ensure that our participants can maintain a high level of trust and participate with confidence.
We are not collecting or storing any of your personal data.
All submissions to the repository should be anonymous and unattributable. If any submissions contain personal information such as names, contact information, or any identifying information that might mean someone’s identity is discerned, we might choose not to publish the text or redact/modify (e.g. change names) and delete pieces of the submission to ensure anonymity.
Everything published will be at our team’s discretion, and we might choose not to publish a submission if we feel it might impact other people’s safety or wellbeing while interacting with the repository. For guidance on why we would decide not to include a submission, please refer to the communication principles in the Harmful Digital Communications Act.
There may be a need for some submissions to be added to an R18 section.
We are accepting submissions in all languages.
If you wish to receive a copy of your submission, there is an option for you to submit your email address and a copy of your submission will be emailed to you. We will not share your email with anyone else or publish it to the repository.
If you wish to receive updates on the project, there is an option for you to submit your email address to our mailing list. You are able to unsubscribe at any time from the updates. We will not share your email address with anyone else or publish it to the repository.
If you change your mind about participating or wish to remove your submission from the website, you can email us and we will work with you to identify and remove it.
This repository will stay active until the 08-04-2026. All contact data will be deleted once the project is finished. At the conclusion of this project, we will not be able to make any more edits to the repository.
We are exploring a permanent home for the repository past the end of the project. Our hope is that it will be archived and made available in the future as a snapshot in time of our communities’ thoughts and experiences relating to cannabis. We will also ensure any permanent archival process meets all data privacy standards as outlined above. If you're involved in an organisation or project that could serve as a long term home for this project, get in touch with us at queering.cannabis@gmail.com.
