Peer Support
Peer Support Services
Unfortunately this project is not able to offer peer support or pastoral care, but there is lots of support available to you should you need it:
Outline - OutLine Aotearoa is an all-ages Rainbow mental health organisation that provides support throughout Aotearoa to Takatāpui, MVPFAFF+ and Rainbow communities, their friends, whānau, and those questioning. They offer a nationwide, free and confidential support line and online chat support service between 6pm-9pm every day.
Gender Minorities Aotearoa - GMA have a peer support programme available to transgender people. They are professional advocates, and can offer you accurate, up to date information on a wide range of topics. Find out what works well for other transgender people and get connected with practical support.
RainbowYouth - RainbowYouth work with young people (aged 13-27), their whānau and their wider communities to provide safe and respectful support. We provide strengths-based peer support that considers hauora, resilience, cultural identities, and individual journeys.
Narcotics Anonymous - The NA message is that anyone can stop using, loose the desire to use and find a new way of life. NA offers recovery through working a 12-step programme and attending group meetings for an ongoing source of connection and belonging. There is an online Rainbow meeting you can attend (with no pressure to participate), as well as in-person Rainbow groups too. To find out more visit their website or call 0800 NA TODAY (0800 628 632).
CADS - CADS provide specialist counselling, group support and information to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (Rainbow) communities in Auckland.
